The house was formerly a pub. We don’t know whether it was that to start with when it was first built c1850, but it was definitely a pub by 1889. The previous owners left us a couple of photos (I’ll take better copies once we’re settled)

I also found some photos online taken in the 1950s. It was a pub until the early 1980s.
