Walls

We had some decorating done downstairs in the week before we moved in. The kitchen, dining room and library. This was done fairly quickly but looks fine and it has tidied up the walls, smoothed out the surfaces and cleaned it up. And, in the case of the dining room, the wallpaper looks great.
Next on the list, some of the upstairs. The back bedroom definitely needed doing so we have wallpaper for there (grey theme). The parlour is the room we really wanted to get painted as we would like it to look similar to our sitting room that we had in our Edinburgh flat. In fact the parlour is probably a better proportioned room than the flat but doesn’t have the cornicing or floor boards or Edinburgh press shelving. Anyhow, the wall paper came off in the parlour but the walls are really bumpy and have cracks. So yesterday, the plasterers came to skim it. It looks beautiful and smooth, they did a great job and now we have to wait for it to dry.
We are also getting the stairs and landing done and the wallpaper is off there now – it’s not too bad. The skirting boards and woodwork have been done. Blue flowery wallpaper to go on.

The parlour with it’s beautifully plastered skimmed walls.
