We don’t really have a hall – it is a passageway which is different but I like it. It goes straight through from the front door to the back door with a couple of steps just after the stairs. The photos below are looking to the front door.

Yesterday, they started to paint the wood panelling – it is not old wood panelling, looks like 1970/80s. We are having it painted light grey to match library but the undercoat is dark grey. It looks quite good and we’re quite tempted to have it dark grey as the parlour will be and now the woodwork has been repainted white, it’s a good contrast. But it would probably be overpowering so it will be painted light grey (“falling feather”). Photos below are with undercoat.
