There are three chimneys to the house and they were repaired to the outside when we had the roof done. There is still a strange collection of gas fires in some of the downstairs rooms although we have removed the kitchen one and replaced it with a custom radiator. So, access to the chimneys is via the fireplaces on the first floor in the parlour, front bedroom and back bedroom. (Our bedroom doesn’t have a fireplace even though it is above the dining room). In all three rooms there had been gas fires but the fireplace is open to the chimney and therefore draughty. We cleaned out the grates etc and then decided to get the chimney sweep in to clean them. Needless to say they were quite messy and dirty. He did a great job and we have some of those chimney balloons put in. I might put some logs in for decoration.
